Hoover Green Team

Hoover Beautification Board
The Hoover Beautification Board is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Hoover. The board creates programs that involve our citizens, schools, businesses, civic leaders, and local government in actions that prevent litter and beautify the community. The mission of the board is to empower citizens to take greater responsibility for their environment.

Please help the Hoover Beautification Board and the City of Hoover keep Hoover a beautiful place to live, work, and play. Our reward is a cleaner, more attractive environment and community.

Complaints about excessive debris or weeds are inspected by the Inspection Services Department. To contact a zoning inspector, please call 205444-7523.

How Can I Help?
  • Set an example for others, especially children, by not littering.
  • Carry a litter bag in your automobile.
  • Make sure your trash containers have lids that can be securely fastened. If you have curbside trash collection, do not put loose trash in open boxes.
  • Tie loose papers in bundles before placing them in curbside recycling bins.
  • If you use a commercial dumpster, check it daily to make sure the top and side doors are closed.
  • If you or your family is a member of a civic, professional, youth, or recreational group or program, encourage your organization to "adopt" a street or area and maintain it on a regular basis.
  • Report litter in Hoover to the Litter Hot-Line by calling 205-444-7867.
  • Volunteer to help organize a cleanup.
