HOOVER PUBLIC LIBRARY
Sealed Bids will be received by The Hoover Public Library of the City of Hoover, Alabama until 4:00 P.M. local time, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Library Boardroom of the Hoover Public Library, 200 Municipal Drive, Hoover, AL, 35216, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment the moving of library collections, shelves, and some furniture. Approximately 55,000 items in the collections, 175 double face sections of shelving, and about 65 tables with their chairs, according to the Bid Specifications and Contract Documents.
No Bids will be received after the time set forth above and the bids/proposals will be publicly opened and read in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama. The specified work will be awarded under one Contract and all labor, materials, and equipment, except as noted, shall be provided by the Contractor for an initial period of one year with the possible renewal for two additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement between the City and the Contractor.
Specifications and Contract Documents are open to public review at the Administrative Office of The Hoover Public Library, 200 Municipal Drive, Hoover, Alabama, 35216. Alternatively, a copy may be obtained from the City of Hoover’s website at http://www.hooveralabama.gov/bids.aspx.

The attention of Bidders is called to the provisions of Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975 relating to Immigration Law compliance and documentation thereof (i.e. participation in the Federal E-Verify program). The successful Bidder will be required to sign a contract that includes the following provision related to Immigration: "By signing this contract, the contracting parties affirm, for the duration of the agreement, that they will not violate federal immigration law or knowingly employ, hire for employment or continue to employ an unauthorized alien within the state of Alabama. Furthermore, a contracting party found to be in violation of this provision shall be deemed in breach of the agreement and shall be responsible for all damages resulting therefrom."
All Bids/Proposals shall remain valid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date of receipt of Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in any Bid, and to accept any Bid which is considered to be most advantageous to the Owner. The Contract award, if made will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as evidenced by his/her submittal of a Bid/Proposal Form which has been completed, signed, and delivered in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
